From Waste to Wealth: A Village Revolution
In the quiet village of Chandor, a silent revolution is underway. What used to be a common sight of plastic-choked roadsides is now being replaced by clean lanes and thriving kitchen gardens. The secret? A community-driven waste management program initiated by VEAB Goa. By empowering households with the knowledge and tools for waste segregation, we have managed to divert over 20 tons of organic waste from landfills in Chandor alone. This waste is now converted into nutrient-rich compost, which locals affectionately call "black gold." Rohan Mehta, our community coordinator, shares stories of change from the ground, illustrating how this initiative is not just cleaning up villages but also fostering a powerful sense of community ownership and pride.
